Summertime and the living is easy...

How funny is that quote- its obvious that song wasn't written by someone with two little girls to keep them busy!

And busy we have been! Once again I begin a post with the words..."I'm sorry its been so long since my last post" but I just don't seem to have the time these days. So I am going to shoot for shorter posts more often- we'll see how well I do with this...

Here is a short recap of the last few months, leaving out all sorts of stuff I am sure!

Preschool, gymnastics, choir, music, and all other things ended in the spring. The summer began crazy busy with a trip with friends to the lake followed by two busy weeks of VBS/VBS planning, then came Dance/Princess camp, Girlie Girl then a trip to Grammy's. This week it was Art Camp and next week its First Pres camp, then its a week off, then a week to the beach just in time for school to start! WOW- like I said we have been busy!

Well..its a new year already! I can't believe that my last post was from the beach this summer! So much has happened since then and I am making a promise to myself to be a better blogger! This post is going to be my "recap" from the past few months to get me caught up and ready to go this new year! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and is having a fantastic 2010!!

Merry Christmas!

Thanksgiving was a great day! We started off at the Gobble Jog on the Square. Sarah Kate took part in her first Tot Trot and loved it! Lots of her friends where there running too.

One little, two little...its Thanksgiving time!

Since we hadn't had pictures professionally taken of Hadley since she was born, we decided to have some done around her 1st birthday. A sweet girl I grew up with in Dalton is now a photographer and she did an amazing job!

Halloween was so much fun! SK wanted to be Snow White and insisted her sweet sister be a dwarf (Dopey more specifically). I found a precious Garden Gnome costume that we pretended looked like a dwarf and SK called her Dopey (pay backs might be rough). We had a wonderful time at parties, parades, hayrides and pumpkin carvings! This is my favorite time of the year!!

I got to go on Sarah Kate's first ever field trip (we rode on a big bus and ate snacks out of brown bags- the whole experience) to the pumpkin patch. So much fun!

Sarah Kate participated in cheerleading at our Church this Fall- she loved every minute of it! It was a wonderful way to spend the beautiful Fall days outside! Grammy came to see her cheer too! GOOOO Mighty Munchkins!!

The FAIR came to town and there is no better way to say goodbye to Summer and hello to Fall than a trip to the Fair! Hadley was still too little to ride anything this year but next year she will be all over it! Of course our dare devil Sarah Kate wanted to ride EVERYTHING but still needs to be a couple of inches taller for the big rides. She is fearless!

Can't believe that my baby is growing up! We had a "Cupcake Brunch" to celebrate Miss. Hadley turning ONE! Despite all the rain (this was the weekend the flood began) we all had a wonderful time! Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!

I had my 15 year class reunion and had a great time catching up with friends!

Sarah Kate had her first trip to the dentist! She got a good report and really had fun!

We have been busy, busy this summer! June was filled with summer camps at the Church for SK, July was the beach and some girls weekends and so far August isn't letting us slow down much!

This summer Sarah Kate and her friend Elle have been taking a tumbling class and they love it! Last week my Mom was in town and stayed home with Hadley while I took SK to class, so I took my camera (and my biggest zoom) to catch some pictures of these future Olympiads hard at work!!

Day of Celebrations

Today my family had a day of celebrations! We celebrated Sarah Kate's 4th birthday (again), my Uncle Sonny's birthday, my Grandmother's birthday and Father's Day. We headed up to Dalton to my cousins Kay and Paul's house and pool. We (Kay) grilled burgers and dogs and all the fixins. We had birthday cake, banana pudding (still warm right out of the oven), and mini chocolate pies (compliments of my Grandmother- who will turn 88 yrs old on Tuesday!!). We swam, ate and swam some more! We all had a great time watching SK show off her swimming skills and Hadley going for one of her first "dips" in the pool. Its days like today that make me so glad that I have such a close family and a little sad I don't live closer! I love you guys!!

We had some performances...

Sarah Kate did such a great job at her recital this year- the whole class was precious! They all looked like ballerinas with their hair in buns and the beautiful costumes! I am very proud to say the very least!

SK had quite a "Fan Club" in the audience cheering her on and congratulating her with flowers! Those in attendance were...Pop, Grammy, Nana, Bob Bob, Aunt Becca, Uncle Alan (who I think enjoyed the performance the most!), Daddy, Hadley and a very proud Mommy!

This is a shot of the "not so great" performance- no really it was still great, just funny! Here is a shot of SK's school Spring Festival performance, where she decided to rub her eyes and look as miserable as possible during her group's time to sing! With 3 yr old you never know what your are going to get- it makes life very interesting at times! SK's Bob Bob and her Grammy were able to attend this fun event!

A bird decided to build a nest in the wreath on the front door! I am happy to report that all 5 eggs hatched, all 5 birds lived and all 5 birds have flown away and my door is once again POOP FREE!!!

Spring Break '09 was one for the record books! Three Mommy friend's and I took all of our kids to spend some time in the North Georgia mountains. We had big plans of picnics, hikes, ice cream cones and tons of fun! The only one of those things we got was the FUN! Instead we had rain, cold, and SNOW! We made the most out of our time and had a blast in the end. Here are some of the things we did...

Before our Easter Egg hunt- we had to bundle up the kids and hide the eggs in easy places to that the hunt wouldn't take too long and no one would get frostbite!

Watching movies was a hit- thank goodness!

Thanks to Allison we had lots of crafts and thanks to Costco the Mommy's had lots of beverage!

Easter was a fun time! We had many egg hunts and parties and tons of candy!! Here are a few highlights...

I am blogging and downloading tonight getting ready for our big trip, we leave for the Disney Cruise on Sunday. We are so excited and can't wait. SK is about to burst she is so excited. We are going with our friends Kristie and Bucky Wright and their twins, Davis and Alexis (12 days older than SK). These kids are going to have a blast and the parents probably will too!! Of course I'll be posting pictures and stories of our adventures once we get back. I just wanted to share with you some of the things we have been up too since our last post.

Hadley turned 6 months with week on the 16th- I can't believe it! She is healthy, healthy...17lbs, 27 inches- just like her sister was at 6 months. These two are the exact same size! She is growing so fast and is a wonderful baby. She is so calm and sweet. I have been working hard on getting her to sleep unswaddled- so far its not going very well but I am becoming quite the expert on all the "sleep" books on the market- call me before buying! She loves her swaddle and I love sleep, so she may be going off to college with a swaddle blanket!

We celebrated my birthday with balloons, dinner and presents. I extended the celebrations all week long with Bunco, JL meeting and dinner with my Smyrna playgroup pals. It was a fabulous birthday!

We are taking advantage of this beautiful weather and our playset! we hope to get it cleaned up and bug free so that we can enjoy it more this summer! Here are a few pictures of SK pushing Hadley and Hadley LOVING IT!

Hadley and I went on a road trip to Nashville to hang out with my friends from college at the end of February. Here are some pictures of Hadley and my friend Anita's little one, Anna. The two are exactly one month apart with Hadley being the oldest. They were fast friends even after Hadley pulled some of Anna's hair.

On February 22nd, 2009 Hadley was Baptized. It was a beautiful day and service. We were joined by family and friends to celebrate this joyous occasion! We hosted a lunch at our house after church. We are blessed to have our sweet angel Hadley! Here are some highlights of the day...

Ok- I know its been almost 2 months since my last post...I know I am a bad blogger!!

Anyway...lots has happened since my last post!

First off- Christmas was SO MUCH FUN! SK really got into the whole Santa thing this year. We had our Elf on the Shelf out (his/her name became Zoe this year)and she really loved finding it each morning. Robert is great at hiding the Elf since he can reach higher places than I can. Miss. Hadley could have cared less about the Christmas happenings, but SK wanted to make sure Santa brought her stuff too, so of course Santa went all out for both girls (thanks Santa!) Christmas Eve we went to our new church here in Marietta and fell in love with their Christmas Eve service. They do a nativity using the kids from the church- SK was an angel. Sweet, Sweet service! After church on Christmas Eve we went home to open one gift, after that it was night night time (Santa needs some time to get things ready). Christmas morning was CRAZY, but fun! After breakfast we loaded up and headed to Dalton. We celebrated with my family then and the Harris clan on the Sunday after (we like to extend the holiday for as long as possible). SK got all she asked for, some highlights were her "exercise bike", camera, art easel and Bitty Baby. Poor Hadley got a Bumbo Seat and some other assorted things just so SK wouldn't worry too much about her not getting anything. Christmas was wonderful!!

Since then we have been crazy with life as usual, rang in the New Year with friends and really "got this party started" thanks to Will. SK got back in the swing of things at school and Mommy was ready for school to start too! Had SK's teacher conference a week or so ago, the teacher assures me that while SK may not be the most academic child in the class, she is for sure one of the most fun! She is the life of the party/class! I just hope she gets some of Robert's personality/booksmarts too! Swimming lessons have started back and SK is in the same class as Davis and Alexis- if that doesn't spell trouble I don't know what does! They are all doing great- Davis is a natural fish and they girls are natural girls (going through the motions till they can get to the side of the pool to talk). SK also switched back to our old Ballet school in Smyrna, she was so excited to be back with her old friends from Smyrna and is really enjoying ballet much more- thanks Miss. Kate!! Grammy has been a regular visitor/babysitter to allow Robert and I to have some grown up time. We started a monthly "supper club" with 3 other couples and kicked it off with dinner at Houston's- it was a blast and we look forward to many more!! Hadley had her 4 month doc visit and was a whopping 14lbs 3.2 oz, 25 1/2 inches- just like her big sis was at 4 months- its crazy how close in size they are ( they are twins just 3 year apart). She still has her big blue eyes and they seem to be staying that way for now. She is the sweetest baby ever- so happy and easy going. We have been so blessed!

We have lots of exciting things ahead of us this Spring...Hadley's Baptism, Amber's TN Girls Weekend in Feb and a Disney Cruise in March.

We Do Our Own Stunts...

Things are never dull around here especially with our little Dare Devil Sarah Kate. Last weekend while in Dalton she insisted that we go "bungee" at the mall. I had never seen her do this, but Mom and Robert both have taken her. This all started at the Fair this Fall while I was recouping from birth and home with Hadley- Robert would send me these crazy pictures of SK strapped in some harness. Then at the Air Show in October there was another one and now at the Walnut Square Mall. SK is quite the Bungee expert. So after all the insisting we went to the mall, much to my resistance (those who have been to this mall know why I would resist!) We got there and I ssee this contraption set up in the middle of the mall- SK running to it screaming "BUNGEE"! Once strapped in she began to bounce and bounce and bounce. The "operator" of this bungee then began to pull SK's legs and sling shot her to the sky- she went VERY HIGH! I have to say I don't think I would do this- I am way to chicken, but SK is far from it- she had a blast!!!! I'll attach some pics from our mall trip to bungee.

More stunts were attempted by me last week when I fell down the hardwood stairs while holding Hadley. After an ER visit and a CT of her tiny head we rested easy that night knowing that she was OK. Thank goodness for Steph Swanson who insisted that I could not be in the ER alone (Robert was home with SK who slept through the whole ordeal). As the bruises fade from my rump, I will remember to take my socks off before going down the stairs!

Christmas is only 4 days away and the excitement is growing by the minute at our house. Look for some Christmas posts soon. We have already celebrated with school, some "lunch bunch" friends and part of my family in Dalton (I haven't downloaded these pics yet but will soon!). In the meantime, we hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!!!!

Santa is coming to town...

Its that time of year again! We made our annual trip to the Shoppe of Vinings to see Santa. He is the BEST Santa ever! This year SK was so excited to show Hadley the ropes of a Santa visit. She climbed right up in his lap and started to tell him her list. Hadley was fascinated by the strange man holding her. Santa was great with both kids and wanted to have extra pics made with just him and Hadley. We love Santa and have been going to see him since SK was 6 months old. I am including the pictures of past years for you all to see and compare- so cute! Next year, if you are looking for a great Santa stop by the Shoppe the 2nd weekend of Nov- Santa will be there!

WOW- we've been BUSY!!!

Hi all,
We have been VERY BUSY since our last blog (a whole month ago- where does the time go??). I can't believe I never even posted pictures of Trick or Treating? I promise to include some of those this post. Here is what's been happening with us...

Hadley is now 2 1/2 months old, she went two weeks ago for her 2 month appointment and she is a whopping 11 lbs- she is getting SO big. We go back to the doc tomorrow for more shots (I didn't let them give her all SIX at the last visit) and I get to see if she is even bigger. She is rapidly growing out of all her 3 month clothes already and I just got her out of the newborn sized ones a couple of weeks ago! She is sweet as sweet can be! The best baby! She is smiling all the time and cooing at us- she is a joy!

Sarah Kate is enoying being a big sister still and has been loving this Fall activities. We went trick or treating with Davis and Alexis like we have the last 2 years and this year Grammy come too- it was a blast as usual! November was packed full of fun. SK's new favorite thing is to play in the leaves. Daddy will rack up a huge pile and she will play all day. We've had lot of fun in the yard. This past weekend Grammy came down to take us to the Nutcracker (a new Holiday tradition). SK loved it again this year and wants to go back, so we may be going to Dalton to see that one too. She wants to be the Sugar Plum Fairy (just like my child to aim big!) maybe one day she will be (or not). We also had a fun school expereince- we got Spot the Dog finally! Spot is the class stuffed dog that all the kids get to take home for a week. Since we got Spot the week before Thanksgiving break we got him during the break too- Spot went everywhere we did...the Aquarium, the Zoo, to Grammy's, to the movies, to the park, to bed with SK each night, etc... (everywhere she went, so did Spot!). I was afraid that she was going to break down when we had to take Spot back to school, but she was great about it and told me that now it was Wesley's turn and time for Spot to sleep with him for awhile! She is so much better than I give her credit for!

We hosted the Thanksgiving Dinner this year and it was wonderful having everyone over to enjoy the new house. My Mom, Jim and "Bubbie" my Grandmother came down from Dalton, Robert's sister Deanna and her family come from Raliegh, NC and the rest of Robert's fam came too( him Mom, Dad, Sister Becca and her hubby Alan)- all together there were 15 of us. We had way too much food- of course- but had a fabulous time!

We are well into the Christmas decorating now- I have the outside done so it looks like I am organized from the outside, but don't come in- its a MESS!! I thought I was so ahead of the game then I realized I was fooling myself! You guys may get a Christmas card this year or not- I haven't gotten that far. This having 2 kids thing really is throwing me off my game a bit.

A day that will make history!

Well, no matter how the election turns out today it will be a day that will go down in history! We have been very active supporters of the Republican Party and for John McCain this year and Sarah Kate has even gotten in on the spirit. She has heard us talking about who we are going to "vote" for and thinks we are saying "boat". The other day at Target, we passed the fishing poles and she told me that she needed a fishing pole so that she could go "boating with Johnny Cain". I tried to explain we had been saying voting, not boating but she insisted that "her Daddy was going fishing with Johnny Cain" and she wanted to go too! I loved it! After a week of "fishing and boating" I think she has figured it out. Today I got up bright (well dark) and early to vote and when I got home she asked if I voted. The exterminator, Butch came today and she ran to the door to tell him that Mommy voted for John McCain. I am happy that she is part of this history making day. I am writing in the journal that I keep for her all the highlights of this election so that she can read about it when she is older and can understand it all better. Its fun to see her excited when she recognizes the candidates on TV- she knows them both by the way not just "Johnny Cain"!

I hope you are all as excited about our ability to vote and are sharing this experience with your kiddos too! Now get out and vote!

Well, its been a month since my last post. We have been busy, busy as usual in the Fall. This is always the craziest time of year for us, but this year with a newborn its even crazier! The pictures below recap some of the fun we have been having...pumpkins, hayrides, facepainting, parties and so much more!

Hadley is growing like a weed and Sarah Kate continues to amaze me with her love for her new sister. I really thought we would be seeing jealousy, but so far all she wants to do is love on her and help me. Sarah Kate is a great big sister and we hope this continues. Hadley even got to tag along for a field trip yesterday at SK's school- we all walked up to the Square to see a disply of Scarecrows- it was a bit chilly but thanks to Steph Hadley was all bundled up. Sarah Kate was proud to have "her baby" on the trip with her.

I promise to be better at posting now that we are figuring out a routine and getting a bit more sleep. Until then...

Well...
We are pleased to announce that Miss. Hadley Lynn Harris arrived on Tuesday September 16th at 7:27 am, weighing 7 lbs 3 oz and 20 1/2 inches long!!!!

All went well with the c-section and delivery. She is just perfect and looks just like Big Sis Sarah Kate. She was almost the same size- Sk was 7 lb 7 oz and the same height- so just 4 oz difference in the two Harris girls. Hadley is doing great- eating, sleeping and pooping- just what she is supposed to be doing right now. Sarah Kate is so excited to have her baby sister "out of her Mommy' s belly" and in the world. Sk come to visit on Wed after all the tubes were out of me and I was able to walk and move around. She was so cute- she just wants to hug her baby sis! Of course it didn't take too long for the "new" to wear off and for SK to discover the movable bed and all the cool things in Mommy's hospital room. She was very concerned about the staples in Mommy's belly and how they would get out, but other than that she seems unfazed by the hospital visit. She came back up today and was very loving to Hadley and told me she wants us all to come home.

We are headed home tomorrow and can't wait to get settled into our new life. Its going to be nuts at first I know, but we will adjust and we will sleep again- someday!

Less than 12 hours now.....

Yes, in less than 12 hours SK will no longer be an only child! Just one last post before Hadley arrives in the morning (scheduled for 7:15 AM- we have to be at the hospitat at 4:45 am-can we say EARLY!!). Grammy is here to be with SK while we are off at the hospital, so today we took Grammy all around to show her what to do- SK is very excited to have Grammy here at her house for a few days- its a big treat! I'll post as soon as I can with pictures of the newest Harris Girl! Until then, keep us in your prayers!

Counting down the days...

Its been a while since I last posted, our week was packed full of fun. Last week was SK's last week as an only child and I promised her it was going to be FUN! The week began with a friend's "Royal Breakfast" birthday party complete with Cinderella!! All the kids had a blast but the girls loved Cinderella the most! SK and her best buddy Alexis were dressed alike in their Cinderella night gowns (all kids were asked to wear their PJ's) and they loved every second of the fun! Sk thought she would get to eat with Cinderella the next day too, like it was going to be a new "regular" thing we did- she was a bit disappointed when I told her no, that this was a special day. On Sunday we celebrated Robert's Mom's and Dad's birthdays with a cookout at our house. Sarah Kate always gets excited when Bob Bob, Nana and Aunt Becca come to visit. Bob Bob taught her how to use his camera and how to smash her face into the window (thanks Bob Bob). On Monday SK had her first ballet class of the year. She is in a new school this year with all new ballet friends. She loves her new teacher, Ms. Irene and Mommy loves that I get to watch on a TV in the lobby. She can hardly wait to go back this week! The rest of the week was spent going to school, getting some new shoes and picking out a special present for Baby Hadley. I let SK pick out a "lovie" for Hadley, she picked a lamb lovie and she said we could call it "Bunny". The funny thing about this is, SK has one like it that is a bunny and she calls it "Lamby"- too cute huh?

We are counting the days (2) and trying to get ourselves ready for Miss. Hadley to make her arrival on Tuesday. I will try to post some pictures if I can from the hospital, but not sure if I'll be able to, so check in just in case. Its crazy to think that in a couple of days we'll have two sweet girls- God is Good!! Thanks to everyone for all your thoughts and prayers during this time- we are so excited!!

Well its a good thing SK doesn't have the world's best hair yet! The other day she and Jack (new friend at school) decided to play Beauty Shop while their teacher wasn't looking. Her teacher was so worried I'd be mad and I just laughed! Its not too bad actually- if you didn't know it you would think it was part of the "new growth" she has growing in. SK has been "hair challenged" since birth, so this is not a big deal. Here are some pics of the front part that got cut, there are other pieces cut, but its hard to see by picture.

Tomorrow we have a Royal Breakfast to attend- SK's friend is having a breakfast birthday party. She is so excited to get to wear her Princess Nightgown- so stay tuned for new pics soon!

The whole purpose of this blog is to keep folks posted on our daily lives, so I thought I'd share some recent "funnies" of Sarah Kate. She keeps us laughing and is enjoying her last days as an only child (less than 2 weeks now- but who's counting??).

Each night at bath she turns the bath water a new color- thanks to the bath fizzies- this night it was her favorite color PURPLE!

Last night I went to my monthly "Shoppe Lady" dinner- this is a dinner I go to each month with 3 friends who all worked with me at the Shoppe of Vinings. We are pretty faithful about this dinner and been getting together for over 3 years. The other ladies were so sweet and brought gifts for Baby Hadley and for Big Sis Sarah Kate. When I got home Daddy was still trying to get SK to sleep when she saw the presents and HAD to open them right THEN- so here she is in her bed and PJ's opening presents- it was such a thrill for her to break the rules of bedtime!!

The New House

Lots of folks have said they wanted to see the new house and wanted me to send pictures out, so here they are. We are finally getting settled in a bit- still nothing on the walls, for some reason this is something I always struggle with and will eventually do ONE DAY. There isn't a picture of Hadley's room because its STILL not ready {I know the clock is ticking (very fast these days)}, but I will get it done before she arrives and if not- then she'll never know. Her bed is up and ready, we have clothes washed for her and diapers and wipes- what more do I really need!?! Anyway, take a look inside the new house and come see it in person soon! We'd love to have the company!!

School Finally Starts!

With 3 weeks and counting till Hadley's arrival Sarah Kate's preschool started this week and not a moment too soon for me! She is in a new school here in Marietta, we were very lucky to get the last spot in the 4 day a week, 3 year old class at the First Presbyterian Church on the Square. This is the same class as SK's buddy Charlie Swanson, now she will at least know one kid in the school. We met the new teachers on Tuesday and had orientation, then school officially started on Wednesday. SK ran right in like she had always gone there- what was I worried about?? She has surprised me with each "change" and I only wish Mommy could adjust to change so well!! She has wonderful teachers this year and I can't wait to watch her learn! Here are some shots of the orientation and the first day- not too many because she was having too much fun for me to take pictures.

Today was a day of emotional ups and downs...Sarah Kate said goodbye to her old friend the "paci". Yes, I know she was too old for the darn thing and I should have gotten rid of it long ago- lesson learned! I tried to get rid of it at Christmas but she decided to potty train, then the move and the big girl bed, I just didn't want her to have too many life changes all at once, but I wanted to do it before Hadley arrived. So off we went to "Build A Bear", I had read an article about ditching the paci and they suggested placing them inside a bear, this way the child could still have them, just not in the same way. Sounded good to me, so we built "Purple" the bear (yes, she finally got to name something Purple). We chose two outfits (both Princess), some panties (random) and a purse for her. Sarah Kate was all smiles till we got in the car and was getting a bit tired when she realized there was NO PACI to suck on- the the tears and the drama kicked in! "I want my paci, I need it, I just DO need it, I need it NOW, etc" all the way home and once home while trying to take a nap- it wasn't pretty! Bedtime wasn't as bad and then today she has only mentioned it a couple of times, so maybe its true about the 3 days to break the habit- I'll let ya know once we are over the 3 day hump! I am including some pictures of the big event.

Daddy's Girl

So...it finally hit Sarah Kate that someone other than me would have to pay attention to Baby Hadley once she got here. The other day she asked me if Daddy would have to hold Hadley too? I told "yes, Daddy would be holding Hadley", this was the first time she has been upset by anything dealing with the baby yet. She told me that NO, Daddy would NOT hold Baby Hadley, he was HER Daddy. She told me she didn't care if I held her, or Grammy(my Mom) held her, or Aunt Becca or Nana held her- but NOT her Daddy. I think I have a Daddy's girl on my hands and it should be interesting in about 3 weeks! With this in mind I starting looking at old pictures and am posting some of my favorite "Daddy's Girl" moments- very sweet!

A Southern Celebration!

Yes, I have been truly bless with the best friends in the world!! Last night we had our monthly Bunco, hosted this month by Kristie Wright. Most months we have a theme and the month before someone is expecting a baby we throw a Bunco Baby Shower and honor the Mama-to-be. Well last night was my fun filled night, Kristie chose a "Southern" theme- guess she thinks I am pretty darn Southern. She had a spread of southern favorites (all my favorites), sweet potato casserole, fried okra, creamed corn, fried chicken and biscuits, ending with pound cake and apple pie- I know your mouth is watering as you read!! It was wonderful!!! We played our usual round of dice rolling then they showered me with gifts- it was truly a night of all my favorite things...Friends, Food, Gifts and Fun- THANK YOU ALL for such a great evening!

We have some wonderful friends!! This past weekend they threw us a "Stock the Changing Table" party! It was great, we got tons of diapers, wipes, lotions and creams- everything we will need for our newest to arrive! Thanks girls for such a fun time and being such fabulous friends!!!

Ok, so I am very new to blogging, but I thought it was a great way for our friends and family to keep up with all things our family is doing these days.

We have had a crazy and busy summer! We moved from our townhouse in Smyrna to a house in Marietta. After some MUCH needed painting, some new lights, and LOTS of unpacking we are starting to feel like we are finally home. We did manage to sneak in a vacation to Hilton Head with Robert's family in July, where Sarah Kate discovered the ocean and the "Big Waves". We all had a great time! Robert has been working as much as usual and I have been trying to get the house and our lives ready for Baby Girl #2! Hadley Lynn will make her appearance September 16 at 7:30 am (if not before). We are very excited about meeting our new little girl! Sarah Kate is excited (for now) about her Baby Sister and she has finally stopped calling her "Baby Purple" (her name suggestion for the baby).

This Fall will bring us lots of new things and adventures...Sarah Kate has her first day at her new preschool next week, her first class at her new ballet school and Hadley will be here in 4 weeks! We look forward to all the fun times we have ahead of us, so check back from time to time to see what we have been up to!
